Whether we are at work or just away for the day, we all wonder how our pets are doing back at home. Have they got enough food? Are they behaving? Well, this new technology lets you interact with your loved furry friends while you're away!
Yummypets has heard of a couple of applications (listed below, most expensive to the least expensive) that you might like to try!
Furbo Dog Camera
The Furbo Dog Camera is a smart camera that works with IOS and Android phones. The features of this application let you check up on your pooch and interact while you're not at home. It has a HD camera (with night-vision!) and a microphone which allows you to talk through your phone, so your dog can hear you! A bark alert lets you know if your dog is making too much noise, to which you can then tell your dog to stop through the mic. It also includes a treat dispenser, so you can give your dog a little snack if he or she is being good.
This device lets you record video, enabling you to capture special moments of the pup, and you can then share the video on social media. The Furbo app is available free of charge for Apple and Android users, however, you will have to purchase the Furbo Dog Camera for the app to work, which costs 199 USD.
If you are struggling to keep track of how much food you are giving your pet, Petnet can do it for you and even take over feeding responsibilities. If for example, you need to feed your pet at certain times a day, the Petnet Smartfeeder is just the thing for you! The price of this device is at 179 USD (137.23 GBP). It can hold up to seven pounds of food and it dispenses throughout the day, depending on your pet's weight, age, activity level and feeding schedule. You will receive alerts every time that your pet has been fed! You can also work the app through other smart home products like Amazon's Alexa, or Nest.
Dog Monitor app
If you would like to go for a more affordable option that lets you simply check up on your pooch while you are out and about, give the Dog Monitor app a try. It costs only 5.99 USD (4.59 GBP) from IOS or Android. Unlike the other products listed, it doesn't come with a camera, but simply connects to yours on the devices that you already have! All you have to do is download the app on your phone, tablet, and/or computer.
Set up one of these devices in a good position at home and then use your mobile to check up on your pets while you're away. You get to see your dog live and talk to him/her through your phone. It is also possible to record commands and then play them to your pet without having to speak into the phone. Multiple users can view it at the same time and you also receive alerts when your dog is making a lot of noise.
