Christmas is just around the corner, and everyone will most probably be feeling very festive. For our feline pet parents, here are some treats that you can make for your cat this Christmas!

Mackerel Christmas treats for your cat

What you will need:

- 1/2 cup of whole-wheat flour

- 1/4 cup of skim milk

- 1/2 can of canned mackerel

- 1 tbsp. of vegetable oil

- 1 egg

- mixing bowl

- fork

- baking spray

- baking/cookie sheet

- Christmas cutters (optional)

Instructions:

- Heat the oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C)

- Spray the baking/cookie sheet with cooking spray

- Place the mackerel in the mixing bowl and crumble it, then mash it with a fork

- Add the flour to the mackerel and continue to mash with a fork

- Add the milk to the flour and mackerel mixture, then add the egg and the oil and stir together

- With Christmas cookie cutters: when the dough is mixed, roll out the dough with a rolling pin and cut out the cookies with the Christmas cookie cutters

- Without Christmas cookie cutters: when the dough is mixed, scoop out portions directly from the bowl and shape into tiny balls

- Place them onto the baking/cookie sheet

- Put cookies into the oven and bake for 10 minutes

- Let the treats cool entirely

- Finished!
