For several days, the U.S. has been closely following the life of a white owl who came to live in downtown Washington at the time of the cold wave. This species normally lives in the Arctic.

The inhabitants of the city are excited by the snowy owl and its adventures through the streets of the city. Each of its appearances are filmed, photographed and relayed in the newspapers or online.

Unfortunately, last Thursday, this magnificent owl was hit by a city bus. The bird was initially transferred to the National Zoo and sent to City WildLife, a clinic specializing in the care of small wild animals.

City Wildlife said Friday on its Facebook page that the owl, a female, was in a " steady state " and "calm, nurtured and closely monitored ."
