Joining a new social network can feel a bit intimidating, so we want our Yummypets members to feel supported from the very start.
To help you explore the platform and make the most of everything Yummypets has to offer, we’ve put together a short guide with everything you need to know as a new member.
The Yummypets community
Welcome to Yummypets! Our amazing community has been growing since 2012, and we’re so proud of how far we’ve come. Unlike other social networks, Yummypets is entirely dedicated to pets and their pawrents!
Members can create profiles for all of their pets, share photos and videos, interact with other members, and much more!
How do I befriend other Yummypets members?
Most importantly, other members need to know you’ve joined Yummypets. Here are a few tips to get started!
1. Complete your profile
If you haven't done so already, make sure to validate your account via the link in your email! If you did not receive an email, please contact leo@yummypets.com and we will get this resolved for you. Validating your account will give you access to all the Yummypets features. Afterwards, you can start to fill out additional information on your profile so that other members can get to know your pet better.
2. Find a few Yummypals to follow!
What’s a Yummypal, you ask? They’re your fellow members here on Yummypets! After you create an account and post your first photo, you can start following other Yummypals and interacting with their content!
3. Give out plenty of Yummies!
Yummies are the little pawprints underneath photos, statuses, and videos. They are the equivalent of “likes”. You can give as many Yummies as you want each day, it’s a great way to show others you like their photos!
4. Comment
By commenting on the photos of other Yummypals, you can start to converse with like-minded pet parents. It’s also a nice way to show our members that you’re an active member of the community! You can tag people in a comment by typing the "@" symbol and then typing their name. Keep in mind that it's only possible to tag members that you follow.
You may notice that many of our Yummypals are French. We have users from all over the world and many of them speak English, even if it’s not their first language. Yummypets is currently available in English, French and Spanish.
Don’t hesitate to comment in English even if the member who posted the photo wrote in a different language! We’re all united by a love of pets, language should not be a barrier!

Best in Show
Almost every weekday of the year, the Yummypets team chooses photos to highlight in Best in Show. Post photos regularly and maybe one day your photo will appear in Best in Show!
If you want to increase your chances of being featured, keep in mind that the Yummypets team does not feature photos that are montages or photos that do not seem to be your own. Photos are chosen based on the quality of the photo.
The VOICE program
The VOICE program is a click-to-donate charity program. Through it, you can click to help rescues receive free kibble for the animals in their care. It's free and only takes a few seconds a day to click.
Monthly photo contests
We love hosting themed photo contests! Every month, we share a new theme with a hashtag. To participate for a chance to win one of five $20 Amazon gift cards each month, share a photo that follows the theme and add the hashtag to your photo description. Yummy or Not
Have you tried out the Yummy or Not "game" on Yummypets? It's super easy to participate and vote! When you are on the Yummy or Note page, you are presented with 2 photos and every time you vote for which one you like better, you are presented with 2 new ones. You can continue to vote as many times as you like.
News and advice
Hundreds of animal-related articles are accessible for free on Yummypets. Find information and advice on pet behavior, training, hygiene, nutrition, and more to become the best pet parent you could be!
