Despite coming from an abusive background, Nora, the 8 year-old dog has integrated into this adorable family. But not without the help of her smallest friend!
A difficult past
Nora, the English pointer, was adopted by Elizabeth Spence and her husband 7 years ago. When she arrived, she was scared of everything.
She slowly started to fit into the family and began to relax. But the strongest bond ehe has made is with Archie, her 11-month-old, human best friend.
Napping buddies
The two frequently take adorable naps together, and Nora follows Archie everywhere.
Speaking to the Dodo, Spence said: “If Archie is having a bath, Nora is lying on the bath mat waiting for him to get out," Spence said. "If I'm nursing him she wants up on my lap, too. If he's going through my cupboards throwing all the dishes on the floor, she'll be there cheering him on.”
The couple have a very full house: three cats and two dogs! The whole family just love their four-legged best friends, and use their instagram to promote adoption.
On their Instagram account, Spence told how Nora was pregnant when she first arrived in their home. One puppy sadly passed away while the others were successfully adopted, but Spence feels perhaps Nora felt the loss:
“Dogs are separated all the time from their pups; it's commonplace, but I can't help feel that Nora felt a bit of a void in her heart with this loss, which is why she's always been particularly loving and attached to 'my' kids, Archie in particular.”
