Rafael Mantesso had nothing left when his wife left him but his bull terrier, Jimmy Choo. He took a difficult and sad situation and turned it into something rather positive and amazing!
It’s All Over
On his thirtieth birthday Rafael’s wife left him in a bare all-white apartment. She took everything from the furniture to the photos to the cookware. Their dog, Jimmy Choo, stayed behind and with only each other for company, their imaginations ran wild.
Jimmy Choo started running around the bare apartment happily and this is when Rafael started taking photos of him. When Jimmy sat still near one of the walls, Rafael found a black marker and started drawing an imaginary world behind Jimmy.
Inspiration Returns
He felt his love and drive for art and drawing returning right there on the spot. This not only helped to take his mind off the more serious things taking place, but gave him inspiration for life again.
Rafael then decided to draw a series of fun pictures showing Jimmy in different positions and doing different things. Set against a white backdrop the black illustrations are definitely eye- catching!
Jimmy Choo in Pictures
The pictures portray Jimmy Choo as other animals and people and they include; Jimmy posing as a cow, with butterfly wings, taking a shower, singing into a microphone as well as being a member of the popular band Kiss, playing the piano, being a part of a Jaws poster and watching television.
There are many more pictures to see and Rafael is planning a book, which is due to come out in October!
