Ken, who lives in the Philippines, went out at night to secretly feed stray dogs in the village. His biggest dream was to be able to open a shelter for these animals. With some help from his father and many donations, his dream has come true!
Animal Shelters
The Philippines and many other countries have shelters that collect stray animals. Due to the lack of adoption or place at the shelters, these animals usually end up being euthanized.
The Happy Animals Club
Ken and his father were able to build housing for a few dogs in their garage. Instead of just feeding them, he was able to take them in and heal them. Ken named his shelter ‘The Happy Animals Club’ and has been taking care of three dogs.
“They gained a LOT of weight, their open wounds healed and their fur grew back. They also learned not to be scared of humans,” Ken wrote.
Future Plans
He plans to put these healthy dogs up for adoption and then to take in more strays. A photo of Ken feeding the stray dogs ended up on the internet and many people started donating money to his cause. With this money he was able to rent a space where he will start a shelter. He hopes to have it up and running soon!
