Are you a cat or a dog person? Denise Guastello, from Caroll University in Wisconsin, has done a study to compare cat and dog lovers and here are the differences between them.

The Stats

Denise did a survey with about 600 students on their relationships with their pets, and through this tried to identify their characteristics. The stats show that 60% are dog lovers, 11% are cat lovers and the remaining 29% couldn’t decide whether they preferred cats or dogs.

Dog Lovers

The study shows that the dog lovers are usually more open and energetic. Denise said: “It makes sense that a dog person is going to be more lively, because they’re going to want to be out there, outside, talking to people with their dog.” Dog lovers are also apparently more traditional.

 Cat Lovers

Unlike the dog lovers, cat lovers are said to be homebodies and introverts, looking for affection from their pets. They are not as traditional and apparently more intelligent! According to the study, the average IQ score of the cat lovers are higher than the dog lovers.
