We all turn to our local vet when our animals become unwell. We all trust them with our pet's lives. This man is probably one of the most talented and famous vets out there. Let's go meet him!

The super vet

Professor Noel Fitzpatrick is a world leading orthopeadic-neuro veterinary surgeon and is based in Surrey in the UK. He is known as a true leader in his field. In 2009, he became the first veterinary surgeon in the world to successfully apply an amputation prosthesis to a cat named Oscar. He has since continued to develop more than 30 new amputation prosthesis techniques.

Noel even has his own television series in the UK, the first one called “Bionic Vet” on the BBC, and the other, “The Supervet”, on Channel 4 , which has had 10 successful series. He has also been a guest on Channel 4’s “Crufts” and was a presenter on “Animal Rescue Live”, which raised awareness for animal adoption and promoted responsible animal care.

So many people bring their pets to the vets to get them fit and well. Sadly, in worst cases, nothing can be done to save their pet's life… Luckily, because of Noel Fitzpatrick’s television shows, he is famously known for his miracle surgeries. And so, when nearly all hope is lost, people turn to him in the hopes of getting that miracle surgery for their loved animal.

He is also a public speaker and this year, he became the first veterinary surgeon to start his very own nationwide arena tour. He has won several awards for his work, and is in the Guinness book of records for his achievements. He even met Queen Elizabeth II to discuss his work with her.

What an inspiration!
