Poncho undertakes CPR training

In a video recently published on Twitter, a Madrid police office is seen to fein collapse. He topples to the ground landing on his back.

From the side, Poncho the police dog is made aware of the seemingly in-trouble officer and immediately runs to his aid. The footage then captures Poncho jumping on the police officer's chest as he attempts to perform CPR.

Between each jump, Poncho can be seen placing his head against the officer's neck in a bid to detect a pulse. He repeats the process until the policeman gets up and rewards him with a pat and a treat.

The Twitter post includes the caption: "Heroic performance by Poncho, who did not hesitate for an instant to 'save the life' of the officer, practising #CPR in a masterful way. A dog is the only thing on this earth that loves you more than he loves himself - John [sic] Billings.

It's not hard to see why the post went viral and Poncho became the world's most loved police dog - what a hero!
