At Hershey Hospital in Pennsylvania, a dog has recently been hired as a full-time therapy dog.

An awesome dog!

It was Ashley Kane, director of the "Child Life'' program, that organised this initiative. She did a lot of research about how to reduce patients' stress. She saw that dogs had been considered to do the job, so did some more digging on the subject.

The project has only been in place for a few weeks, but the benefits have been felt all over the hospital. The younger patients seem to be more peaceful though they are battling diseases that are sometimes fatal. The company of Kaia helps them to relax and keep them distracted throughout their long and arduous treatments.

Kaia has become a real member of the team, whose day would just not be the same without the hardworking dog.
