When neighbours started complaining of the smell coming from a house nearby in North Las Vegas, police discovered 112 cats living there with a 47-year-old woman. This is a serious case of pet hoarding!

The House

The floor of the small house was covered with faeces and urine; creating a very bad smell in and around the house. The woman’s air conditioning was broken as well and because of the heat and the smell, two officers working in the house had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

Removing The Cats

It took the police and animal control 6 hours to remove all 112 cats from the house. They were all taken to an animal shelter, where their health was checked and they should be up for adoption.

Good Intentions

The woman told TV anchors that she only had good intentions; she had been rescuing stray cats for years. She had intended to have them all spayed, vaccinated and adopted but the situation escalated and before she knew it she had 100 cats living with her.

She admitted that she had made a couple of mistakes; she only wanted to keep a couple of cats. The woman was taken to a hospital as a precaution and will not be able to return home after her admittance.
