Medal of Courage and Dedication for police dog, Full

At a special ceremony held on 16 May for French police officers killed in the line of duty, one four-legged hero was also recognised for his bravery and commitment to the police service.

Full, who recently retired from active service after seven years as a specialist narcotics and currency detection police dog with the National Police of Montpellier, was awarded the Medal of Courage and Dedication for his exemplary service.

Full sniffed out some significant hauls during his time with the police, discovering a total of 1.5 tonnes of cannabis, 15kg of heroin, 11kg of cocaine and €500,000 in cash.

It's no mean feat to face highly challenging and often very dangerous circumstances as a crime-fighting pooch. As such, Full recognition means he will always be remembered for his courage, talent and commitment.

Full now enjoys the comfort and luxuries of retirement with his handler. Well deserved we'd say, and bravo!
