Hypoallergenic Cat

Are ragdolls hypoallergenic cats?

I understand the struggle with allergies and wanting a cat. It can be tough when you're a cat person but your allergies act up. I've been researching this myself, handsome cat breeds are said to be better for allergy sufferers.

    Hyyyyy!!

Ragdoll cats are not considered hypoallergenic. While they have a reputation for being gentle and affectionate, they still produce the same allergens as other cats. These allergens include proteins found in their skin cells, saliva, and dander. Ragdolls have a medium to long coat that can shed, potentially increasing the spread of allergens.

If you have allergies to cats, it's important to spend time with a Ragdoll before deciding to bring one home to see how your body reacts. Additionally, regular grooming and cleaning can help manage allergens in the home, but it may not completely eliminate the issue. If allergies are a concern, consider speaking with an allergist or a healthcare professional for advice.

I believe that because their fur is different they can be, but wouldn't rule it out. Depends if its a fur allergy or to dander. Ziggy moults for Britain!
