How do you teach your dog to sleep thru the night and not go outside to urinate etc.

Hello, what age is your dog ? Depending on its age it should be able to hold it throughout the night as long as you have pottied them right before bed time . If it is under a year old they still are being potty trained and you may have to get up to let them out .

And also of course if the dog is not feeling well they may whine or bark to let you know they need to go out at night.

What I would do is take my dog on a long evening walk if it is a older dog who wakes up at night that way they have burnt some energy off then potty them before laying down they should be good to go from there !

Ive been through that before. Limit water intake 2 hrs before bed. Then let out just before you go to bed. If 2 hours doesn't work try 2 1/2 hrs.
