King Charles Spaniel

Be careful not to confuse this little dog with its cousin, the Cavalier King Charles! This English origin spaniel has a square shape and weighs between 3.5 pounds and 6.5 pounds, its ears are droopy and its eyes are dark and very large. It has long, shiny and silky hair, usually black: groom often so it stays beautiful! Always in a good mood, the King Charles spaniel is an intelligent and very affectionate dog. Reserved and calm, it is sometimes called the dog-cat. Did you know that the physician to Queen Elizabeth I thought this breed had a gift to cure stomach pain and anguish? In fact, this dog was at the time considered "friendly and charming comforter" it kept the nickname "comforter"!
