Butter showing off some of her favorite tricks! Butter loved anything agility based and also anything fetch based, and tricks like walking on a barrel and fetching a ball went on to become some of her favorites to combine later on!
Here was Blackberry learning to expand her fetch trick! Berry knew to fetch a pen cap when cued, so to expand her fetch trick I started placing the pen cap into boxes, drawers, and various other places so that she learned to generalize it well.
This week’s paw painting by my sweet rat Jellybean - if you'd like to commission your own paw painting, you can do so on our etsy store called "Rat Paw Paintings"
Tofu weighing herself on a scale! This is a super helpful trick for weighing rats, especially those who aren't big on touch or handling like Tofu.
Here was Butter doing some fun agility! Butter was one of the most agility loving rats I've ever had, and even when she was older like in this clip she always loved new courses and would pick them up super quickly!
Blackberry the rat learning to combine weaves with fetch! Blackberry was only the 2nd rat I worked this trick combo with, but she gave it her all and did quite well!
More scent work practice with Crumb! She's really come to love this trick and gets so excited whenever she sees the scent balls come out!
Latte doing her forwards + backwards weave-walking trick! Latte was quite good at this trick, but after her stroke she wasn't quite as coordinated or fast, so I had to be extra careful to go slow.
A fun contrast between my first attempts to train bowling with diy props, vs later bowling training using a mini bowling set . In both cases the girls learned the trick well, but the nicer bowling prop makes this trick look more polished!
