At 9 years old, a border collie named Max was able to detect breast cancer cells in his owner's body before any medical tests, which saved her life.
It has been said that the dog are man's best friend, but did you know they can also feel and detect if we are seriously ill?
In the BBC video called " The Secret Life of Dogs", Max became depressed when he began to detect cancer in his owner, Maureen Burns. According to the video, Burns had a lump in the breast, but her last mammogram showed nothing serious. However, Max, who was normally full of life, began to act strangely. Max would then "feel Maureen 's chest with his nose, and back with a sad look in his eyes" says the owner.
So she went to the hospital to carry out further investigations and that is when the cancer was diagnosed. Now Maureen is better, Max's behaviour has returned to normal!
Dogs are truly amazing creatures!
