Is there a way to stop your cat to bring back mice etc to your home?

I find it upsetting to see the little creatures injured but alive. I just find a private part of the garden and lay them there. I do the same with the live ones(if you can catch them!!) find a place the cats very rarely visit and let them go. If other cats are bringing dead birds to you they are probably presents for your cat.

That is a nice thought, thank you for answering my question.but its upsetting when you see them dying in front of you.Also his friend is bringing dead birds outside my house as well!

I'm afraid all cats will bring home small mammals it's in their nature. What this really means is that they are bringing home to their best friend (you) a present of the highest order.
