Food allergy

Hello everybody! I'm new here and I really need help please. I adopted my very loved "Salsa" 7 months ago. She was a 3 months old Street Cat and has always been a bit weak. It seems that she's got a food allergy and even the food that the vet sells for her doesn't seems to agree with her health. So now I'm cooking chicken, fish and vegetables for her but she doesn't look very healthy (fur isn't strong and shiny). So I'm afraid that the cooked food hasn't got everything she needs. Any ideas about brands of food that may help?

A food allergy in pets, especially dogs and cats, occurs when their immune system reacts to certain ingredients in their food, like beef, chicken, dairy, grains, or fish. Symptoms can include skin irritations, itching, gastrointestinal issues, or ear infections. If you suspect your pet has a food allergy, it’s best to consult a vet for diagnosis and an elimination diet to find the culprit.

Welcome! It’s great to hear that you’re committed to Salsa’s health. As a proud cat owner, I can recommend that for her potential food allergies, consider exploring limited-ingredient diets or hypoallergenic options designed for sensitive stomachs. You might also look into raw diets, but be sure to consult your vet for safe implementation. Incorporating nutritional supplements like L-lysine cats for immune support and taurine powder for heart health can also help address any deficiencies in her homemade meals and they will help in getting a shinear coat as well. A conversation with your vet will be key in finding the best options tailored to Salsa’s needs. You're doing an excellent job!
