Asking for experience of those who've reversed IBD in cats....

We have a senior male tuxedo cat named Finnigan. Over the past 15 years, he has chugged along through good times & bad. Last week he had a flare-up but seems to be recovering after pooping out a load of hairballs. He even seems more energetic than usual. For the first time in a while, he jumped up on the bed tonight without help.

It looks like we need three steps to build him back up-

Kill off whatever pathogens, whether parasites or fungi or yeast that so inflammed his bowels;

Remove the actual inflammation;

and healing & protecting his system from further inflammation, and restoring him to health, along with replenishing his intestinal lining.

We have our own products that are seeming to work well, but we'd like to see other things we might not be aware of.

Thanks!

    Hi Cedric! my friend has a Canadian Sphynx cat diagnosed with IBD. at the moment she is fine, but she had diarrhea for 8 months. The change in diet helped a lot. As well as  Supplements whit b12 vitamin and metronidazole that was given orally for about 2 to 3 weeks.

    Hi Cedric, hi Finnigan,

    Glad to hear Finnigan has had a rebound from his latest flare-up.

    We haven't had this experience ourselves so can't offer any valuable insights but hopefully you receive a response or two from other members of the community here. You could always try posting the same questions to Finnigan's profile, as well as to the Born in the USA members group (under 'teams'). And no doubt you've been in contact with your vet / relevant experts, who will give some sound advice as well.

    Good luck! :D
