My cat drinks milk

My cat loves to drink milk - is this okay?
  • Emily W.

If your cat's not throwing up or having diarrhea, he or she can consume whole, skim, or lactose-free milk in small quantities. Some experts advise that cream is better than regular milk because it has less lactose than whole or skims milk.

If she does not have a watery stoll after drinking milk it is okay. I give my cat a yogurt just in case, she seems to like it.

Hey Emily, milk isn't ideal for cats as they tend to be lactose intolerant. There are some special cat milks that you can buy to give to your kitty as a treat, so either have a chat to your vet or jump online to do a little research about some suitable cat-friendly options. Our article on cats and milk should help give you some more background info. Hope this helps! 😃
