female westie, not willing to stand for breeding?

  • Caitlin F.

Being a terrier I can understand this. They are very bull headed. I know I have met many breeding dogs, both male and female, that will not breed. Especially Terriers. We have a Male Yorkshire Terrier and he will not tie with anything other than Yorkies. My grandmother also had a Standard Poodle who was so dominate, she would not allow any males to mount her.

Not to mention female terriers become, well, terrors when in their heat cycles. They have to be isolated from each other often because they are so wound up that they fight if to many females are together.

You best bet would probably get AI.
