inflamed skin

Hello, my dog started to present a mass in one of her armpits, we thought it was cancer but the vet says no, now it is very red and hot, getting bigger and bigger as if an animal had bitten her but she doesn't scratch it, ever has it happened to your dogs? She was prescribed an antibiotic but I don't know why she has it.

It's important to follow your veterinarian's advice and give your dog the prescribed antibiotic as directed. Antibiotics are often used to treat infections and inflammation, which may be the cause of the red and hot mass in your dog's armpit.

It's also possible that the mass is a skin infection or abscess caused by a bite or scratch from another animal, as you mentioned. In this case, your veterinarian may need to drain the abscess and/or prescribe additional medications to treat the infection.

If the mass continues to grow or your dog shows signs of discomfort or pain, it's important to follow up with your veterinarian to determine the best course of action.
