Just last week, the Maxi Zoo in Saint-Malo opened its doors in Ille-et-Vilaine in France.

The company has opened a 600m² supermarket dedicated entirely to our furry and feathered friends.

Pets welcomed in the shop

More than 7,200 products are offered on the shelves of this shop. The business has made its mark on the Malosian scenery in presenting itself as offering the largest range of products in the market.

Marina Hely, 33, is the manager of the shop. Passionate about animals, she has 10 years of experience in this domaine to offer to shoppers. For her, it's a pleasure to be able to bring her dog Pepette, a Welsh Corgi, to work.

Maxi Zoo in fact offers to its employees the chance to come to work with their pets.

And just like the employees, the dogs of the customers can also come to the shop. For Marina, it is the pets that are the customers primarily. By allowing them into the shop, they will go towards the treats or other products, making the choice of their owners easier.

A 'doggy bar' and a 'treats bar'

A 'doggy bar' is dedicated to the pets of the shop's customers. Samples of kibbles and fresh water are available. Pet owners can also check their pet's weight with a weighing corner.

"We generate a weight distribution curve for each dog breed. Anyone can come and weigh their dog, regardless of whether or not they are a paying customer."

A 'treats bar' will also offer a variety of 12 different treats. There are some salmon treats, for spayed cats and 'anti-hairball'. There are also a dozen or so for dogs, as well as some for rodents.

What do you think of this idea? Would this work in your country?
