You just gave your pet a long and muddy walk. They were so happy getting dirty that you didn’t even try to stop them. Now, it’s time to get back home but before they get the whole house dirty, you are going to give your dog a bath. But, what ?! You are out of dog shampoo?! Don’t worry!

Here is how to make a natural and cheap dog shampoo by yourself.

Shampoo

In an empty bottle, mix:

- 1 cup of white vinegar (white vinegar has antibacterial and deodorizing properties, and also will make your dog’s hair shiny)

- 1 cup of liquid dish detergent

- 1/3 of cup of glycerin or aloe vera gel

- You can add few drops of essential oil to perfume the shampoo.

If you don’t have any glycerin or aloe vera gel, you can use only vinegar and detergent that you mix with a cup of water. We use aloe vera and glycerin to make the hair soft and soothe dry skin.

Always remember to protect your dog's ears when bathing.

Dry Shampoo

If your dog is covered with dust and you don’t have plenty of time to wash them, you may prefer a dry shampoo. Here is how to make a homemade dry dog shampoo:

- ½ cup of baking soda

- ½ of of cornflour

- Ten drops of essential oil

Sprinkle this mixture on your dog’s hair and rub vigorously. Let it stand for about ten minutes and brush your pet until you have removed all the powder. If your dog has dry skin, you can finish by massaging them with few drops of olive oil.

Note that you can't use a classic shampoo to wash a dog! This could hurt their very sensitive skin.
