That's it, you are determined, you are going to adopt a ferret! But maybe you're wondering about their arrival in your home. Here we will try to answer any questions you may have, so that your ferret's adoption goes smoothly!

Ideally adopt your pet during a weekend or vacation: that way you have lots of time for the newcomer! The arrival is an important moment for them as it is for you: this is when you define the foundation of your future relationship. Everything must be ready before your ferret arrives: cage, bedding and food.

Their cage should be in an isolated place and protected from breeze and heat: it is a very sensitive animal! And you wouldn't want them to die of a heat stroke or a bad flu. Put some blankets or pieces of cloth in the cage... They must feel comfortable in their new home.

Don't forget to put a bowl of food and a bowl of water, that you must renew often and wash every week. Also prepare their litter, and do not place it next to their food as you would not eat next to your toilet either!

When they arrive, give them a few quiet hours away from family and other animals. That way they will get used to their new surroundings and they can discover and inspect calmly. When calm and familiar with the environment, you can introduce them to the rest of the family. Speak gently and quietly, do not hesitate to call them by his name.

After some time, your ferret will wander around the house (do not forget to close doors and windows, it would be a pity if they escape!) and hurry to their cage to feel safe. Do not worry, it will not long to before they walk freely in your house. It is a sociable pet.

With this advice, we are sure your little fur ball will quickly get used to their new home!
