March 11, 2013: a great victory for animal rights! From March, the 11th, 2013, Europe have banished any cosmetic product where the finished product and ingredients have been tested on animals.

Eg. if an American company wants to sell a cosmetic product which has been tested on animals, Europe will not allow it on its market.

The influence of this new law goes far beyond the borders of Europe, it is the world that is affected, as any cosmetic company that does not want to be deprived of the European market will not test its products on animals.

Which products does it concern?

This applies to all cosmetic products. By this is meant daily hygiene products such as toothpaste or soap, to more elaborate cosmetics (makeup etc.).

What about the rest of the world?

The European cosmetic companies willing to sell their products in China will have to test their products on animals. Animal testing on products designed to humans is mandatory in China.
