American Akita

Brought to the United States by U.S. soldiers during the Second World War, this dog has a body longer than high! Its hair is twofold: Undercoat thick, soft, dense and shorter than outer coat. A brush occasionally will do!
This is a friendly companion, alert, responsive, docile and courageous. It has an instinct to guard, and is relatively distrustful of strangers.
